From the National Association of Mortgage Brokers to the Mortgage Bankers Association, there are countless organizations designed specifically to add value to the lives and careers of mortgage professionals. Whether it’s a local organization or a nationwide association, these groups can be incredibly effective and valuable for professionals in the mortgage industry.
We’re going to outline a few national organizations you can join as a mortgage professional to help you grow your network.
National Association of Mortgage Brokers
Created in 1973, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) has grown to be a professional home for more than 910,000 licensed and registered Mortgage Loan Officers, as well as over 39,000 licensed mortgage broker and mortgage lender businesses.
“The National Association of Mortgage Brokers is the voice of the mortgage industry, representing the interests of mortgage professionals and homebuyers since 1973,” its website says.
“NAMB members include small business owners, loan originators, account executives and other industry professionals. NAMB is committed to promoting the highest degree of professionalism and ethical standards for its members. NAMB is setting the industry standard and setting you up for success at every level.”

Mortgage Bankers Association
The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), which has been around since 1948, began its presence in the real estate finance industry with the School of Mortgage Banking. Since then, its educational arm has been rebranded as CampusMBA, which offers programs in various formats including distance learning, live online workshops, classroom-based courses, corporate training and several books and other resources.
Now headquartered in Washington, D.C., MBA represents over 2,200 member companies. MBA’s membership base includes all sectors of the real estate finance industry, including originators, officers, servicers, underwriters, compliance personnel, and information technology professionals representing mortgage companies in the residential, commercial, and multi-family arenas.
MBA’s mission is this: “As the leading advocate for the real estate finance industry, the MBA represents and serves its members through a comprehensive array of capabilities and tools that enable members to successfully deliver fair, sustainable and responsible real estate financing within ever-changing business environments.”

Association of Independent Mortgage Experts
The Association of Independent Mortgage Experts (AIME) has over 40,000 members. It aims to protect independent mortgage brokers, support their members, and grow the wholesale mortgage channel with curated tools, industry-leading resources and exclusive access to technology.
The organization's website says, “AIME is the only non-profit trade association dedicated exclusively to independent mortgage brokers. Our sole focus is to support wholesale mortgage professionals by providing access to resources, tools and technology to make your business successful.”
