The CE Shop Partners with REAL Trends and the California Association of REALTORS® to Provide Industry Insights

The CE Shop conducted a study focused on the consumer journey within the real estate industry and examined the needs of the consumer in order to better inform agents and brokers.


DENVER, CO, December 3, 2018 – As an industry leader in real estate education, The CE Shop is invested in the future of real estate. Partnering with organizations like REAL Trends and the California Association of REALTORS® created an opportunity to delve into industry trends through meticulous surveys administered between June 20 and July 12, 2018. One thousand adults aged 18 or older who either bought or sold a home in the first six months of 2018 were asked a multitude of questions and the results will help real estate agents and brokers across the nation better serve their clients.

The study revealed an interesting correlation between relationships and real estate. Not only do real estate agents play a profound role in guiding home buyers and sellers through the real estate process, but their support is also essential in the eyes of the consumer. The research found that 80% of consumers polled believed that buying a home is a stressful process. Which is why, according to this report, 90% of consumers use a real estate agent to assist them with real estate transactions.

Despite discussions throughout the industry of technology soon replacing agents, the consumer is still looking for that personal touch. This report also found that there is little response variance between age groups or incomes. This disproves the widely assumed myth that Millenials prefer an entirely online presence and avoid interpersonal interactions whenever possible. Across all generations and income groups, consumers still see a need for the real estate agent.
